GPT-5 is now integrated across Microsoft Copilot: What does this mean for me?

Microsoft have announced that GPT-5 has been rolled out across its Copilot suite, including in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot Studio.  

This marks a significant improvement in intelligence, offering you even more benefits when applied to your work and daily tasks.

Wait – what on earth is a GPT? 

Think of GPTs as super-smart robots that live inside your computer or phone. They’ve read a lot of books, websites, and articles. Which means they have almost infinite knowledge to pull from. It makes them the ideal companion for helping you to write content, answer questions, or analyse complex datasets.  

Before the upgrade, Copilot ran on something called GPT-4. Which offered very impressive language understanding and task automation. But had limitations in context depth. That’s where GPT-5 comes in.
