#TeamHable Customer Stories: Bracknell Forest

by | Mar 9, 2021 | Customer stories, Healthcare

Bracknell Forest Council recently began a digital transformation project that centred around collaboration.

After making the decision to move their email to the cloud, the next phase of the project was the roll out of Microsoft Teams and OneDrive to the 17,000 people across the organisation.

They engaged with a partner to help migrate data and files from their personal workspace F:Drive, over to OneDrive, and felt that the introduction of Teams would complement this move.

It was at this point that they engaged with Hable, after identifying a need for Change Management and user adoption.

“We wanted Hable to understand how Bracknell Forest Council works today, and then have them show us what Microsoft 365 can help us to achieve tomorrow.”

Kicking off with Hable’s ‘How You Work’ workshops

Here at Hable, we don’t like to tell companies what they should do or how to work. Instead, we take the time to learn more about who we are working with, get to grips with their current working styles, and then see where technology can help improve processes and workload.

Our ‘How You Work’ workshop was the best way to do this effectively within Bracknell Forest Council, by identifying the teams that needed the most help and working with them to create a plan of recommendations for transformation. Together with our Managing Director, Sean O’Shea, and Nathan Rhodes, our Government Sector Lead, we ran 10 How You Work workshops across a number of weeks.

These workshops are all about understanding what people do in their day to day work, to identify pain points and areas for improvements where the Microsoft 365 tools can help and how it could work within the council. These might be big, organisational changes or could be something much smaller, like advice on using tools more efficiently.

Helping integrate Microsoft technology into day-to-day working life

Following on from the How You Work workshops, #TeamHable wanted to try something different for the staff at Bracknell Forest. We created a number of engaging video guides about OneDrive, making them as relevant as possible to teams across the council.

“It was a great way to help people understand, in a language they already were familiar with. The videos used terms like “your Bracknell Forest F:Drive” and Hable even included screenshots to show how our users would see it and where they would find OneDrive.”

When Microsoft Teams was introduced into the council, Hable helped to launch and promote it, making it part of day-to-day working across the organisation.

We set up training sessions across various departments, which were then shadowed by people in the council. From this, they learnt how to become the trainers themselves and developed their own in-house trainer network. One of our main objectives in the project was to encourage the council to embrace technology and feel empowered by it. By giving employees the tools to become the trainer and share best practices, it created a network of people working with the change rather than against it.

Following the work we’ve completed introducing Microsoft 365 within the council, we are very pleased to be able to say that Microsoft technology has helped them achieve their main goal: to work more collaboratively.

Unlocking the power of Microsoft 365 within council departments and local authorities

At Hable, we change the way people feel about technology. Through our range of adoption and change management services and packages, we can improve the way your council or local authority works by unlocking the power of Microsoft 365.

For questions on how we can work with you to do this, get in touch; we’ll be happy to help.
