Our Sector Leads play a vital role at Hable, responsible for growing their individual sectors, building new relationships and ensuring our customers get exactly what they need. Having recently graduated and completed an Internship with Microsoft, we are delighted to welcome Georgie Watson on board to head up our Commercial sector.
Georgie joined us about 3 months ago, and now that he’s settled in, we thought we’d sit down and ask him some hard hitting questions!
Hey Georgie, welcome to Hable! What made you want to join the team?
I was introduced to Sean O’Shea (Managing Director, Hable) by my previous manager at Microsoft.
Over the course of 6 months or so, Sean and I had a few conversations where he asked about the career path I wanted to take. I was able to build a good relationship with Sean in this time as he seemed genuinely interested in me as a person, and he made me feel very comfortable when speaking to him. Sean mentioned to me about a potential opportunity arising at Hable and began to share what it was like working here.
As I am early in my career, the opportunity to learn and develop was the most important thing I was looking for. I was made aware of the opportunities I would be given throughout my time here and the support my team would give me. The culture here at Hable in my opinion is second to none, there is great cohesion between different departments as well as a great personal connection throughout Hable.
Joining #TeamHable was one of the easiest decisions of my life so far.
You were working at Microsoft before you came to Hable. What can you tell us about that experience?
Before my time at Hable, I enjoyed a 13-month placement at Microsoft as a Customer Success Manager Intern, within the financial industry. My role was heavily focussed on supporting my team and their customers on adoption and change management within the modern workplace. During my time at Microsoft, there was a massive push towards the adoption of Microsoft Teams. This gave me the opportunity to not only strategise plans on the adoption of Teams, but I was also able to design and deliver many Microsoft Teams live sessions.
Across 4 weeks, I delivered sessions to over 2,000 people, helping to contribute to an increase of +300% of Teams active usage across the accounts I had supported on.
Towards the end of my placement, I was given the opportunity to lead on some of the accounts, helping to troubleshoot both technical and adoption questions on Office 365 products; and organising days to upskill employees.
Working at Microsoft was a fantastic opportunity where I was exposed to many situations which helped me to grow as a person. The support that I had received from my team was outstanding and I believe that I would not be the person I am today without the assistance of those who pushed me out of my comfort zone. I see a lot of similarities in culture between Hable and Microsoft, and I am excited to see how far I can push myself and the company in the time that I spend here.
You’ve come on board as our new Lead for the Commercial Sector. What will that involve?
Hable are currently in their early stages of developing a presence in the Commercial Sector, and for me this means that my role involves building upon existing relationships and scoping out the opportunity to build new ones.
It is crucial for a Sector Leads to understand not only the business problems an individual company is having, but the issues which the whole industry is facing. As a Sector Lead, it is our responsibility to conduct the initial conversation with businesses seeking our support and then connect them to the correct experts at Hable.
Sector Leads are available to continuously support you throughout our relationship, making sure that we are paying close attention to the needs of your business.
In your opinion, what is the best thing Hable can offer businesses ?
I believe Hable services offer a wide range of benefits for businesses. One that stands out to me is the way in which Hable will support and help businesses recognise that, although the advancement in technology is a fast-paced environment which can be daunting to many people, the technology is here to aid you on your journey.
Hable can help you to assess, plan, implement, and review your adoption strategy ensuring the most effective and efficient use of your technology roll-out.
What is your favourite thing about your new role as Commercial Sector Lead?
I love being able to create and build relationships with the different businesses that Hable are working with. I am always intrigued by the different business scenarios which we face, and I am constantly learning and adapting my approach to these differing circumstances.
As a Sector Lead, I also work closely with a lot of the different departments within Hable, helping me to build my network internally and sustain great relationships with my peers.
If someone thinks you may be able to help their business, how can they reach you?

Highlight of your career so far?
The amount of trust which has been given to me by others at such an early stage. This is my highlight because without this trust, I wouldn’t be in the situation I am today where I feel comfortable to express my ideas. Because of this, I’m becoming increasingly confident in my abilities.
