Alsager school

Hable began working with Alsager School in 2015 initially to migrate them onto Office 365 to save money on IT infrastructure and empower pupils and staff to work in new ways. With support from Microsoft, bespoke training provided by Hable and Alsager’s creative use of the new tools, they kicked off their innovative community project with Alsager Partnership in raising awareness of Dementia. Students ran workshops with people in the local community and used the information gathered to create interactive, digital stories using Microsoft Sway. The impact for families and individuals affected by dementia were truly wonderful and their innovative approach ranked them as one of the top 50 EdTech schools in 2019. Hable are passionate about the positive impact technology can have on people and along with Lee Whitmarsh (Alsager School) we supported the school in creating a digital hub for the project: so it can continue to be enjoyed for years to come.

“In all the 35 years that I have been teaching never have I seen a project that proves to connect education to the local community in quite the same meaningful and rich way that the Dementia Sway project has done here in Alsager. The Sway Project has captivated everything that all educators strive to achieve for the students in their care, in developing their skills technically, emotionally and creatively”.
